Underground magazine gates are designed around the security, access and environmental requirements of explosives storage areas. The gate frame, infill, hinges and locking arrangement are configured to provide robust access control while remaining practical for repeated use in underground conditions. Design inputs can include the opening size, wall or ground-support interface, required ventilation through the gate, locking philosophy, corrosion environment and site-specific explosives management requirements. The arrangement can be adapted for new installations or retrofit into an existing magazine opening.
